The B&B-MAF Bag Filler BF is a fully automatic horizontal packaging system for the end packaging of tissue- and hygiene products (for example toilet tissue, kitchen towels, facial tissues, paper towels, diapers or sanitary towels) into pre-made bags (wicket). The integrated systems for product distribution and –stacking and a combined turning wheel- and separation system allow the realization of a wide range of formations (see below). With a machine performance of max. 60 cycles / min. it is possible to fill up to 120 bags / min. in a two-up operation of the bag filler.

“Combimatic” carton packing system as the solution for packing with trays, high-sided trays, trays with covers, display trays with hooded lids and wrap-around cartons By deciding to use this compact-packing universal carton packer, which may be used for many combined pack options, packing companies can optimize their final packing. As with just one machine, five packing variants can be called up at the push of a button. Alternatively, with the B&B-MAF “Combimatic” it is possible – with little adjustment – to pack products into trays, high-sided trays, trays with covers, display trays with hooded lids and wrap-around cartons.

The Tray and Wrap-around carton packaging machine Combimatic CM is a servo-mechanical packaging system which separates corrugated cardboard carton blanks, folds them, fills them with product and closes them with hot-melt glue. Bottom trays, high board trays with U-shaped- or tray-lid and wrap-around cartons are packaging options that can be realized with the Combimatic. Speeds up to 25 cycles / min. can be achieved depending on product and formation. The Combimatic can be equipped with a broad range of handling systems for grouping, stacking, labeling and product control.

MAF GmbH & Co. KG from Hopsten, Germany, has established itself as a pioneer for the development and manufacturing of machines for the production of side gusseted bags and for equipment for the application of sliders. Now B&B – MAF presents a new development which cuts the investment costs for bag producers almost by half in comparison to the equipment which was necessary to produce comparable top slider bags so far. Side gusseted bags made of plastic laminates are used for the packaging of a broad range of products. Reclosable systems at the bag head (top slider) allow the consumer to open the bag easily, remove a dose of the packaged product and easily reclose the bag afterwards.

The B&B-MAF carton packaging machines of the Kartomat KVA series package a wide variety of products like folding boxes, cylindrical products (garbage bag rolls, wallpaper rolls, smokeless tobacco cans, …) or products of the tissue industry into American Case (RSC) cartons. Up to 25 cartons / min. are being erected, filled, folded and optionally closed by hot-melt glue or self-adhesive tape. A wide range of B&B-MAF additional equipment and handling systems can be integrated into the carton packaging machine, such as: Feeding-, formation- and stacking systems, Labeling units, Carton turning stations, Completeness and flap control systems.

MAF has released its latest innovation: A bag / sack maker dedicated to the conversion of PE materials! From now on B&B – MAF is able to process materials as PE/PE laminates (4 to 6,5 mil, respective 90 – 180 microns), Mono PE, PE/CPP and / or coex PE, PE/PET/PE with an optimum of quality. Mainly the SFS is designed for the production of edge seam or quad seal bags, as well as flat bags. The bag forming is realised from one flat film roll. Highly precise cross bottom sealings and bottom corner (mitred) sealings can be done on the SFS for achieving a very good appearance of the bag.

The machines of the B&B-MAF stretch packer series package single products or product formations by means of a film banderole or an overall wrapping. A performance of up to 40 cycles / min. can be achieved by the different machine versions which are configured for a multitude of product sizes. Infeed-, formation- and stacking units can be adapted to customer-specific requirements and enable an automatic packaging process. B&B-MAF has developed a stretch packing technology with the most modern servo drive technology which allows for very tightly wrapped products without an additional shrinking process.

The B&B-MAF side gusseted bag machine SFB 8E –LT is designed for the production of side gusseted bags from a film roll of PET/PE laminates as well as PE/PE and mono-PE material. Additionally the machine is equipped with an applicator for reclosable systems such as Top Slider and Top press-to-close (zipper). The production performance is up to 40 cycles / min., depending on material and bag sizes. Production Capabilities: Side gusseted bags with shortened side gusset (single lip), Longitudinal sealing, Bottom cross sealing, K sealings, Top PTC (press to close) bags, Top Slider bags, and Side gusseted bags with rounded corners

In recent years B&B-MAF GmbH & Co. KG has developed a stand-up bag machine to specific market specifications that permits bags with spouts with tubes (KGA), bags with press-to-close zip closures and spouts with screw closures to be produced in a wide range of formats. Being able to produce stand-up bags with a spout in the bag machine in one process is seen as a special innovation. In the existing state of the art, these bags were produced in two manufacturing stages in a bag sealing machine and a spout welding machine. In-line manufacture offers cost benefits as a result of reduced machine staff, a lower overall reject rate and a higher machine output of up to 120 bags per minute.

The B&B-MAF “Pick & Place” system Universa is a fully automatic carton packaging machine which erects up to 15 cartons / min., fills them in a top load process via “Pick & Place” and closes them either by means of hot-melt or by self-adhesive tape. This packaging technology is particularly suitable for the end packaging of glasses, bottles, cans, coils, molded bottles and other kinds of products which can for example be transported using vacuum grippers. The Universa can be equipped with numerous auxiliary facilities. Furthermore, combined machines can be realized which are capable of both, packaging the product in carton and packaging it in film (also see: Universa RC/SBP).
