This automated bar packaging line features a chicane feeding solution that provides a single stream of bars to two horizontal flow wrapper infeeds. The wrapped bars are then top loaded into cartons by a Presto delta robot using dual collation belts and squeeze-and-spread end effector technology.

Cookies are being picked and stacked in the infeed of a flow wrapper using an integrated delta robot to create a fully automated packaging line.

Bosch Packaging Technology introduces the checkweighers KWE 5000 and KWI 5000 for use in weight and completeness checks of pillow bags, cartons and trays for a wide range of food and non-food applications. The KWI 5000 is an integrated solution that easily interfaces with Bosch packaging equipment and provides total control over the packaging line with one touch screen. Alternatively, the KWE 5000 is a stand-alone solution that can be seamlessly integrated into existing packaging lines regardless of equipment make or model. With speeds of up to 450 bags per minute, both checkweighers can rapidly measure weights of up to 20 kg with an accuracy range of 0.1 g to 1.0 g.

Bosch Packaging Technology combines its decades of experience in bar mass production and packaging to offer one-stop, customized solutions for the production of confectionery, muesli and cereal bars. Part of this technology is the new Contiline bar forming system incorporating innovative developments for the forming, cooling, fanning-out, cutting and coating of bars.

Bosch Packaging Technology offers the Pharmaceutical industry a new way to make an efficient, safe and user-friendly production, with a new peristaltic pump. Due to their ease of use, peristaltic pumps offer many key advantages, especially when integrated with a disposable filing system. However, even for traditional filling it is an interesting option, especially when the product characteristics (e.g. shear characteristics) prevent the use of piston pumps. Since this product was introduced, numerous customers have chosen this pump solution.

The new TwinHead double-twist wrapping machine for filled and fragile hard candies uses a gentle packaging technology. This installation has fewer interfaces than traditional twist-wrapping machines. Two heads are performing the entire wrapping process rather than having to transfer candies between infeed, chain and transport head. A gripper integrated with the first head lifts the candy directly from the infeed disk to the second head which packages the product using double-twist wrapping.

Bosch Packaging Technology is now applying its Module ++ concept, which uses a combination of standardized and tailored solutions, to create automated packaging lines for specific customer applications. As part of this approach Bosch integrates standard modular equipment and makes minor modifications to meet application-specific, customer-defined requirements. The company is able to design comprehensive, flexible and cost-effective lines due to its extensive technology portfolio of form-fill and- seal equipment, feeding solutions, product distribution technology, conveyors, carton formers and closers, robotic product handling systems, and other machines.

Sigpack Systems, a Bosch Packaging Technology company, received the international iF Packaging Award for the packaging concept Burgopak. The packaging solution with a user friendly sliding mechanism combines product and process innovation and has already received several prizes, including the SwissStar Award and the WorldStar Award. The Burgopak is constructed of a wallet format combined with a folded box, which is exposed at the head sides. Consumers open the user-friendly packaging by pulling a flap on one side. The sliding mechanism causes the opposite product carrier to slide open, containing an instruction leaflet or operating manual. The innovative mechanism is tamper-proof and differentiates brands from the competition.

Bosch Packaging Technology has developed the fully automated capsule filling machine GKF Capsylon 3005 for economically filling powder, pellets, and granulates. The dosing station can fill sticky and fine grained powders precisely. The height adjustable metering disk allows for quick adjustment between product formats or filling amounts. The GKF Capsylon 3005 features time synchronized modular stations and is designed for an output of 175,000 capsules per hour. The machine is suitable for big batch runs and frequent product changes.
