Case Erecting - Pusher Bar vs Side Belt
For 17 years the Combi 2-EZ® case erector with pusher bar technology has been reliably and efficiently
erecting cases for companies around the world. Over the years, we have seen more and more
corrugated cases being manufactured with recycled content. This results in thinner, less rigid panels
which can be difficult to erect squarely when run through automated case erectors that push the case
past a railed plow and tape head.
Today our series of 2-EZ® case erectors are still engineered with the industry’s strongest one-piece
welded tubular steel frame (lifetime warranty) and heavy duty name-brand components. But our
engineering team has raised the bar in case erecting technology by improving the efficiencies of
Combi case erectors with these new features:
• Positive four flap closing - rotary actuators and a fixed guide close
the major flaps, which provides for smooth and gradual closing of
the major flaps, especially effective with double and triple wall cases
• Dual belt drive case indexing ensures a squared case travels over
the tapehead
• New, open design has no overhead cross members in doorways,
providing easy access for maintenance. Also, the case opening
components fit back under the rear of the machine staying clear of
falling corrugated dust - another maintenance plus
Positive Four Flap Closing
• Hinged case hold down plate allows for easy tapehead removal by
the operator
• Less adjustments for case changeover - only 5 adjustment points
with digital indicators - the tapehead and side belts now adjust
together
Side Belt Drives and Hinged
Case Hold Down Plate
• Overall footprints reduced freeing up valuable floor space
• Requires less energy - Piab vacuum generator incorporated at the
cup, resulting in half the amount of energy consumed
• Easily adjustable vacuum cup positioning for a full range of boxes
• Electrical enclosures with 35% more panel space allow for future
integration of conveyor and other optional equipment
